Black Out Bullying Jan 25, 2012No Bullying

In keeping with the Patrick-Murray Administration’s commitment to ensuring all students have a safe learning environment, Governor Deval Patrick has designated January 25 as “No Name Calling Day” in Massachusetts.

This is a day where the whole state is being asked to do some special things to remind students of the negative effects of bullying and teasing and to promote a safe, happy school. The schools in Billerica are planning to encourage everybody to wear black on this day in order to show that we’re trying to “Black Out Bullying”. That night, your child’s only homework will be to encourage you to fill out an online survey and talk with your child about school, cooperation, and how people are treated at JFK.

Playground Volunteers

patrolWe need help from our parents in our school community to keep our playground in working order. For the safety of the children, the playgroundand equipment require regular maintenance. It only takes about one hour, and you can do it anytime during your week and we provide thetools. You will be asked to tighten the equipment, fix and/or reportbroken equipment, and pick up any trash on the playground. If we can get 20 parents to volunteer, each person will only need to take one turn during the school year. Special thanks to the parents who have maintained our playground in the past! If you would like to volunteer please contact Michelle Keeley.
